As a Managing Partner for Pacific Advisors, Matthew Shipman is responsible for managing the APG team (Advisor Performance Group), leading our wealth management team and overseeing our compliance team. Matt is tasked with growing the investment and advisory services division, which currently manages over $4 billion dollars in assets administered.
In addition to Matt’s leadership roles, Matt is a practitioner and he and his team help serve successful individuals and business owners that are close to, at or have entered retirement. Matt and his team specialize in creating individually designed, tax-efficient retirement income strategies. He has presented retirement strategies to executives, managers and employees of leading technology, bioscience, architectural, and pharmaceutical companies.
Matt joined Pacific Advisors as a Managing Partner in February of 2013. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Vice President with the Pollakov Financial Group (a MassMutual Agency) where, in addition to serving his personal clients, he spent ten years leading the training and development team.
Matt participates in multiple charitable organizations such as Bikes for Kids, Huntington’s Disease Society of San Diego, Meals on Wheels of San Diego, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Bristol Business School in Bristol, England and studied Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management at the University of North Texas.
When Matt is not servicing his clients and advisors, he is spending time with his wife, Alexandra, their son, Wyatt.
