In my opinion, our daily living challenges are food, shelter and medical care costs which account for 65.70% of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which are quickly escalating. Just food alone has seen about a 27% jump. See below charts.
The CPI is a government measure (which is adjusted from time to time) that examines the weighted average of prices of a basket of consumer goods and services, such as transportation, food, and medical care. It is calculated by taking price changes for each item in the predetermined basket of goods and averaging them. The CPI can have a significant impact on the value of a currency in relation to the currencies of other nations. See US Dollar Review.
